System Integration and Test Engineer


Perm – Full time position


A new exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems integration and Test Engineer to join a growing team for our client based in Horsham. This is a full time permanent role and you will be expected to take responsibility for aspects of testing, integration customer acceptance and on-site installations as well as support of end users through these cycles. For this position you will also need to be either security cleared or willing to go through with a security clearance.

The main duties for this position are as follows:

1 Develop, document and execute testing of developed products and solutions with an end customer focus
2 Articulate issues found during testing back to the development teams for resolution
3 Define, document and execute in support of the customer acceptance of delivery
4 Integration of products and solutions on MS Windows and/or Linux platforms
5 Installation and commissioning of solutions at customer sites
6 Develop, document and host training of the developed solutions for both internal and external customers
7 Provide coherent advice to users both internal and external as 2nd level support
8 Develop and maintain a customer/end user relationship
9 Travel to UK ‘satellite’ locations for installation, maintenance and fault diagnosis
10 Generate and maintain user documentation, including training material


* A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar systems testing and integration role.
* In depth experience of MS Windows operating system administration including networks, domains, user access and logging is required.
* In depth experience of Linux operating system administration including networks, domains, user access and logging would be advantageous.
* Proven ability to interact with customers and end users.
* Experience of system testing methodologies and best practices.
* It would be beneficial to have experience of using development environments such as Microsoft Visual C++, C#, Java, Visual Studio .NET 2003.
* It is essential to have a good understanding and practice of software version control techniques and tools.
* Knowledge and use of Oracle, MS SQL Server, .NET and/or Java Web Services would be advantageous.
* GIS (Geospatial Information System) domain experience is desirable but not essential.

Technical awareness of relevant domain requirements and solutions would be a significant advantage
