Snapshot - Who we are looking for...
+ Ideally you'll be a degree qualified Engineering Graduate with 3+ years' experience
+ Experience of dealing with Far East suppliers
+ Proven record of leading improvement projects and solving issues to closure in a timely manner
+ You're currently working as a Quality Engineer / Quality Conformance Engineer / Quality Assurance Engineer in a consumer product / electromechanical product manufacturing company.
+ Knowledge of quality methodologies PFMEA, PPAP, 8-D, Lean etc.
+ Knowledge of applicable production processes - Sheet Metal processing, Injection Mouldings, Die Castings, Finishing processes
+ Willingness to travel to Far East and European suppliers

More recently we have been broadening our product ranges with world-class industrial designer Sir Kenneth Grange, including our current collaboration with Sir Paul Smith.
The business is entering a global expansion phase with rapid growth in distribution and sales channels. This is a new and exciting role based at our Farlington office, near Portsmouth.
The primary role of Quality Assurance Engineer is as a main quality contact for our Global Supply Chain providing Quality Assurance through design and manufacture and to help maintain and continuously improve all products in a growing portfolio.
+ Support up-keep and continuous improvement of the Company Quality Management System
+ Provide day-to-day supplier and production line support in improving manufacturing / operational processes
+ Management of non-conformance and corrective action process
+ Document and software control
- Quality Support
+ Point of contact for day-to-day quality issues
+ Provide support for external audits (Certification body/Customer/Supplier)
- Quality Management
+ Support the Technical Director in the development of controls and procedures to quality assure all products from concept to production
+ Promote Continuous Improvement and Process Excellence activities within the Global Supply Chain
+ Work closely with Design Team and Operational Departments in resolution of quality issues and Continuous Improvements
+ Develop & maintain control plans and parts/process verification check/audits, with completion of DFMEA's & PFMEA's
+ Participate in design reviews where appropriate
+ Maintain records, filing documents and prepare technical documentation packs prior to release of product
+ Develop and maintain a good understanding of Anglepoise product range
- Quality Assurance
+ Monitor Product Returns rates and issues
+ Review internal non-conformances and customer complaints and close in a timely manner
+ Investigate problems to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions
- Supplier Management & Development
+ Liaison with Suppliers and Asia Quality Assurance teams
+ Complete and manage 8D reviews with suppliers for all concerns and performance issues.
+ Take the lead in handling supplier quality issues to closure in a timely manner.
+ Create rejection documents/notifications and assist with concessions applications
+ Generate quality metrics on supplier performance
- Project Management
+ Responsible for successfully managing designated technical projects
+ Establishes project specific goals, communicates them effectively to all project stakeholders, and devises strategies in order to meet them effectively and efficiently
+ Lead and assist in the facilitation of team, customer and supplier/partner meetings
+ Develops lasting relationships with suppliers/partners that foster strong ties with them
+ Understands expectations that were set with suppliers/partners and recognizes when issues/events may affect delivery
We are looking for a highly competent and professional person with extensive experience of Quality Engineering. You will have:
+ Applicable Degree and / or HNC (Higher National Certificate), HND (Higher National Diploma) in in an Electrical, Mechanical or Quality Engineering discipline.
+ 3+ years’ experience in a Quality or Engineering Function within a Consumer Goods / Lighting Company.
+ Knowledge of various quality methodologies PFMEA, PPAP, 8-D, Lean etc.
+ Knowledge of applicable production processes
+ Previous experience of product transfers/start up
+ Strong in root cause analysis skills
+ Strong communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills
+ Demonstrated ability to lead improvement projects with suppliers
+ An all-encompassing desire to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
The Product Conformance Quality Engineer will report to the Technical Director.
