Leeds – Home based – UK Coverage

Our client has been established for almost 30 years and employs more than 60 staff, and specialise in the provision of a range of consultancy services including electrical and mechanical design and condition and compliance surveys for a diverse range of customers and applications throughout the UK. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and highly self-motivated Senior Compliance Engineer to complement their established and professional team.

Reporting to the Principal Engineer and working within an ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 accredited environment, the successful Senior Compliance Engineer will be based in Leeds and work from home – and will be required to travel throughout the UK, utilising “hot desk” facilities as required.

As Senior Compliance Engineer you will provide - independently or under direction as appropriate - a professional technical service encompassing compliance related surveys, feasibility studies, designing, specification, project management & commissioning and final account to meet all requirements of a client’s brief to time, budgetary and quality standards, and will undertake site surveys at client premises across the country utilising mobile technology to meet the requirements of the brief, utilising bespoke software and cloud data collection applications that allow for the prompt delivery of technical reports with clear analysis of the data required by clients and include the specification and management of remedial actions as required.

You will also develop and present project design proposals to a client following the external brief and internal discussions so that client requirements are met, acting as either lead internal consultant or as member of a team, and prepare, ready for tender, specifications, designs, drawings, equipment schedules and contract documentation as necessary. In conjunction with the client, you will issue contract documentation to tender, adjudicate and recommend appropriate contractor to meet project requirements and establish and agree clear responsibility as lead internal consultant for the project – and when acting as lead Consultant, undertake all aspects of project management as defined by the client in his letter of appointment.

Other duties will include maintaining an up to date knowledge of new techniques and technologies by participating in conferences and attending Continual Professional Development sessions as well as reading technical information available in various media sources, and you will be responsible for the provision of technical support and services to clients across the country and for undertaking the role as lead consultant on various projects as required.

To be considered for this varied and challenging Senior Compliance Engineer role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate relevant qualifications (IEng or HNC or above in a relevant engineering discipline and extensive associated experience) as well as demonstrating previous CAD / Design Engineering experience and a good all round understanding of Commercial Electrical Distribution – and knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Contact the Projects Team at Premier Technical Recruitment on 01827 68400 or email your cv in the strictest confidence to projects@p-t-r.co.uk for further details.
