Would you like to thrive in a pivotal role delivering heavy munitions projects? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Process Engineer at our site in Glascoed.

As a Process Engineer, you will be deployed into the product delivery teams dealing with various heavy munitions development projects. You will be responsible for planning and managing process development activities within capital budgets, whilst providing solutions and processes that are robust, timely, and cost effective which meet with customer expectations.

This diverse role will provide you with the opportunity to engage with all the different engineering disciplines, as well as the chance to see the munitions products come to fruition. The newly redeveloped Glascoed site offers excellent staff facilities and benefits including a gym, football courts, as well as bespoke training courses and support for chartership and higher education.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Process Engineer will involve: 

Daily management of the Process Engineering team and prioritisation of tasks to meet the demand from various programmes


Peer approval of process engineering plans and activity identified for programmes

Drive and implement new technology to improve the manufacturing of product

Conduct technical reviews on behalf of the business

Drive a high performing culture within the team

Ensuring work is carried out following the business processes, to the highest standards of health & safety

Providing a troubleshooting service to manufacturing on processes in areas of responsibility

Ensuring that safety and quality are designed into and cost is designed out of products and processes

Participating in product and process reviews (internally and externally) when requested and take responsibility for relevant products and processes.

Your skills and qualifications:


Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering/ Materials Science (or related subject) and experience leading skilled teams

Good background in process engineering and process optimisation with knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques

You should be innovative and look to challenge traditional ways of working

Experience of product design, development, test and evaluation activities of munitions products

Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications


Experience of high hazard environments; familiar with HAZOP (Hazard And Operability Study), COMAH, DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations), PUWER, SIL (Safety Integrity Levels), MSER and other regulations and standards

Non-destructive testing experience
