Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings, and has recently launched a new class of technology that will revolutionise how people with diabetes around the world monitor their blood glucose levels.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electronic/Electrical Engineer to join our Development Engineering group in a Senior Engineer role.
You will be working in an R&D environment, part of a team designing manufacturing control systems. This incorporates PLC, HMI, Motion Control, Vision Systems, Instrumentation and PID control for desktop prototypes and modifications to manufacturing plant.
Specifically, your work will involve:
· Contributing to product development projects from initiation through to manufacture;
· Creating Electrical and Electronic Schematics;
· Wiring Electrical and Electronic systems;
· Design of Electronic systems and PCB design;
· Working with suitable suppliers for equipment, services and materials.
To be successful, you will need a formal qualification such as a HNC, HND or degree in an Electronic or Electrical Engineering discipline.
You will also need to be able to demonstrate proven experience in a related role in which you have designed complex engineering solutions and demonstrated a creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a regulated environment such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals or healthcare.
