Professional Petrol Head required.

Know your Pinto from your Crossflow? Able to identify that 1970’s car, just by a photo of its brake lights? and then tell us which other vehicles used the same part? If you can, then it sounds like you might need help. While you are waiting for that though, why not apply to join other like-minded car geeks here at Stainless Games and help us develop our latest game.

Candidate must have:

·         Great in-depth knowledge of the history of the automotive industry and the main engineering developments that got the car to where it is today

·         Great knowledge of contemporary developments in the car industry and a keen eye on future trends

·         Great technical knowledge of how cars work. From suspension setup through to Superchargers you at least understand the basic principles of most things and can demonstrate a much more detailed knowledge on some of those areas.

·         Practical experience of car ownership. This could mean anything from classic car ownership, car customisation or building a kit car through to regular attendance at automotive events. All these and others would indicate to us a kindred spirit who could be useful on our current projects. Tell us about your automotive interests!

·         Working knowledge of MS office products, chiefly Microsoft word.

·         Eye for detail and determination to get things “spot-on”

·         Self-motivated attitude and willingness to learn

Preferences:

·         Highly technical automotive background – able to discuss the ins and outs of torque curves or tweaking suspension setups to correct understeer or oversteer with our code team for example.

·         Enthusiasm for Computer Games and the Computer Games Industry

·         Previous game design experience (digital or other)

·         Scripting experience (e.g. UE4 Blueprints)

·         Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Visio

·         Working knowledge of photoshop

·         Working knowledge of modern production methodologies such as agile and supporting software in games development such as confluence and Jira

The successful candidate will be joining our game design team to work on a new project that leverages both their knowledge of cars and enthusiasm for games.

While our preference is to find somebody who has both genuine Petrolhead credentials and previous game design experience we accept that this combination is rare. For that reason, we are willing to take a Petrolhead with a background in a different field with no previous game design experience and train them in all things “game design” at their own pace in a live development scenario.

This is a genuine opportunity for a Petrolhead to switch careers and take a look at the games industry from the inside.

It is also an opportunity for games designers with strong automotive leanings in their free time to properly combine those two passions.

We look forward to hearing from you.
