am working with an engineering facilities contractor who require a Technician (Electrical Maintenance Engineer) to join them working within Brixton Prison. 

 

The work will be reactive and small work – wall socket/ light fittings, as well as covering first fix on fire alarms, gate control and UPS . 


Requirements:
  • Experience in maintenance of commercial buildings

  • 17th edition wiring certification is essential.

  • Over 5 years’ experience working in facilities maintenance.

  • City and Guilds testing and inspection certificate.

  • Working knowledge of High and Low Voltage installations.

What you will be doing:

  • Planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical systems within commercial buildings.
  • Small Installation works on new equipment when required.
  • Diagnose and repair faults to equipment.
Hours

The hours are Monday – Thursday 08.00 – 17.00, and Friday 08.00 – 16.00.

Every sixth week you will work the weekend- when you will have Thursday and Friday off before working the weekend. 

Every three weeks you will cover standby – ‘on call’ over the week and weekend,  where you will be paid a minimum of three hours (quick fix if management call you in) and will be paid £80 for acting standby even if you are not called in.
