The Company is a family owned servo, motion control, flow control and automation specialist based in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

With one of the widest ranges of servo and motion control products, The Company is the UK agent for some of the most well-known and trusted manufacturers from Europe and around the world.

Their range includes the very latest in servo drives and motors, direct drive motors, stand-alone motion controllers, precision planetary and worm gearboxes, precision couplings, incremental and absolute encoders and mechanical actuators. They also represent a Japanese pump manufacturer across Europe.

They offer customers the support they require which can range from simple specification of a single component to designing turn-key motion control systems.

They are looking to fill this position long term and there is a lot of potential for the right candidate to become part of a close knit team and grow with the company.

Job Role:

You would be joining the company’s technical department where you would be expected to take on responsibilities and work load over a number of disciplines such as developing technical solutions (including programming of intelligent drives and motion controllers), testing and commissioning servo and motion control systems, managing the handover of new systems to customers and providing operational support. As a key member of the team you must have good administrative and communication skills, have sound technical knowledge of control, electrical and mechanical aspects of servo and motion control applications and good judgment and a drive for problem solving.

About you:

* Although not an absolute requirement, you will hold a HNC or higher qualification in an electrical and/or mechanical discipline.
* You will have significant experience with servo & motion control systems or experience in an engineering support role.
* You will have experience in working in some of the following phases of an engineering project; design, test, programming, installation and commissioning.
* You will have a good understanding of the regulatory requirements for the design and build of drive and motion control systems.
* You will have previous experience using Microsoft office.
* Some experience with CAD and schematic drawing software would be beneficial.
* A second language, especially German and/or Italian, would be considered a bonus.
* Clean driving licence.
* Eager to travel.
