I am looking to place a Senior Structural Design Engineer within an engineering design consultancy’s Central Manchester office. The firm operates across the UK, Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Australia and Asia. The firm has multiple ongoing large-scale contracts for a range of private and public clients, handling a broad range of civil, structural and environmental design and consultancy services. The firm has been in operation for over 40 years from 20 strategic locations across the globe. You will handle and oversee the design of a range of projects from a wide range of sectors covering Aviation, Education, Government, Healthcare/Hospitals, Rail, Residential, and more.

This role would suit someone who is already operating at a Senior level, with experience of managing more junior engineers and leading on small to medium projects, or this would be a good opportunity for someone who is ready to take the step up into a Senior role. Ideally, candidates will be nearly or recently chartered with either the IStructE or ICE. There will be support from accredited schemes and mentorship from more senior colleagues for those that have not yet reached this level.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a well-established, but still expanding, consultancy with excellent career and skills development opportunities. The firm has a wide range of standard and flexible benefits including 23 days holiday (increasing over time), life assurance, health insurance, dental plan, car allowance options and more.

Job Requirements:
  • Relevant Education in Structural Engineering
  • Relevant experience in residential, commercial, retail, education, high-rise structural design
  • Relevant design experience using RC, Steel, Masonry, Timber
  • Chartership with IStructE or ICE (desirable)
  • Relevant experience leading other junior engineers/technicians
  • Ability to liaise with public/private-sector clients
