The Role: 

As a Design Engineer, you’ll support the development of our client’s LED lighting products. 

Joining a small, close-knit Engineering Team, your duties will involve: 

- Assisting with the full product design lifecycle, from concept to manufacture 
- Mechanical and electrical/electronic product design 
- LED optical system design including custom LED optics 
- LED thermal system design including custom LED cooling solutions 
- Electronics design, PCB design and prototyping 
- Working to timescales and designing to cost 
- Analysing customer products and writing reports 
- Questioning, researching, recording and distilling key information 

About You: 

To be considered, you’ll need: 

- A degree level qualification in an engineering or applied science discipline (or equivalent experience) 
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in 3D CAD software 
- The ability to develop a strong understanding of our client’s technical products 
- A curious and analytical approach 
- To be enthusiastic with the ability to work well under pressure 

Other companies may call this role Graduate Design Engineer, Junior LED Design Engineer, Graduate LED Design Engineer, Graduate Product Development Engineer or Graduate Product Design Engineer. 

Those with experience as a Mechanical Design Technician, Electrical Design Technician, Trainee Product Design Engineer or Junior NPD Engineer are also encouraged to apply.
