We are looking to recruit a number of Product Design Engineers in 2018 due to exciting new projects and growth. We would like to hear from Product Design Engineers from Graduate level up to Senior Level to grow and enhance our team.
Bespak’s in-house Innovation Team consists of around 40 colleagues working in partnership with our customers to bring new ideas to the market and create the next generation of drug delivery devices. At the Innovation Centre we get to see our designs develop from early concept stage right through to manufacture for patient use.
What will you be doing?
As a Product Design Engineer you will be involved with a range of design engineering activities for innovation projects to identify, design and develop new drug delivery products.
The key aspect of this role will be to develop new component and product designs, initially using CAD, followed by prototyping and testing with design iterations to ensure the device is fit for purpose. This work will be supported by technical analysis such as Tolerance Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA). Additional activities will range from creating technical reports and design documentation to the development of hand drawn sketches and computer generated images to communicate ideas. You will also have input into Human Factors studies by assisting with the development of visual stimulus and models.
As a Senior Product Design Engineer your role will grow to include leading, planning and executing project work-streams. You will also direct, review and mentor work completed by junior colleagues, supporting their personal development whilst ensuring that all tasks are completed in line with project plans. You will liaise with customers regarding product development and will draft client technical reports and design documentation. You will work across Bespak, liaising with engineers and other business functions to discuss and evaluate the feasibility of production, production processes and costs.
Teamwork is key at the Innovation Centre; we work together and support each other to develop in our roles and to bring new innovative products to market so you must have a ‘can do’ attitude and a drive to put in the work required to learn and develop as a Product Design Engineer.
