Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Permanent Days)

Northallerton, North Yorkshire

£33,000 + benefits + generous overtime + call out allowances

Our globally renowned client has been established for almost 30 years and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of continuous improvement and strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated and multi skilled (electrically biased) Electrical Maintenance Engineer to complement their established and successful maintenance team.

To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is ESSENTIAL that the successful candidate lives within a 30 minute (approx) radius of Northallerton AND has NO ALLERGIES to penicillin.

Working on a permanent day’s basis (8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday), the successful electrically biased maintenance engineer candidate will be tasked with ensuring that all electrical equipment and machinery is maintained and both breakdown repair and routine maintenance is conducted on equipment within the facility, ensuring continued safe operation of the production process in a hygienic manner within budgetary constraints.

Working as part of a team, you will be required to undertake both reactive and PPM maintenance tasks on PLC controlled special purpose machinery (including mixers, grinders, conveyors and MHE and pelletising presses) and support equipment within a busy Mill environment whilst following Safe Operating and Plant Hygiene Procedures inclusive of an out of hours rotor. You will have completed a recognised time served apprenticeship such as BTEC, NVQ or EAL in Maintenance & Engineering covering both Mechanical and Electrical skill sets.

The role will require you to be able to demonstrate electrical/electronic and mechanical skills as well as familiarity with computer based manufacturing process control systems, with Steel Fabrication skills proving distinctly advantageous.

Other duties will include working with the Maintenance Team Leader & Site Management to complete the PPM maintenance schedule on time and within costs whilst ensuring tasks are completed in a safe manner and all equipment is kept in a safe condition, minimising Plant downtime due to mechanical and electrical failure and monitoring plant condition on a regular basis to prevent unnecessary equipment failures.

In addition to a highly competitive package and a generous overtime scheme, the company operates a "call out" system on a 3 week around basis (1 week on, 2 weeks off with a 24hr break in the rota), and on each occasion that a maintenance engineer receives a call out, they will receive an additional £20 for each time called out to site as well as overtime whilst ‘On call’ - with a minimum of 3 hour’s overtime for each call out.
