Maintenance Engineer - Automation Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Excellent salary + benefits, neg dep exp - to c£38k

Our client has been established for almost half a century and specialise in the development, implementation and support of a range of innovative and dynamic automated solutions for a diverse range of customers and applications worldwide.

Following the successful recent construction of a flagship automated national distribution centre in the Chesterfield, Derbyshire region, our client is now seeking to recruit an experienced and highly self-motivated multi skilled maintenance engineer to undertake a range of both planned preventative and reactive breakdown maintenance activities on an array of automated machinery and materials handling equipment.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the successful Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for fault recovery, escalation management, maintenance, inspection, repairs and improvements of the automated logistics installation, and will essentially demonstrate proven experience of working on PLC operated conveyor systems, stacker crane and mini-load systems.

Considering the global nature of the organisation, it is also essential that successful candidate will be open minded, communicative and able to develop relationships with sister operations within the UK and overseas and will be flexible to travel if required.

Whilst specific shift patterns are yet to be determined, it is envisaged that the roles will be based around a “double days” shift pattern (ie “earlies” and “lates” – NO night shift) on a Monday to Friday basis, so the ability to work on this style of shift pattern is an obvious requirement.

This is genuinely an exceptional opportunity for a suitably experienced and motivated multi skilled Maintenance Engineer with an automation or distribution sector background, and to be considered for the role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess relevant engineering qualifications together with proven experience and success gained within a fast paced manufacturing, engineering or maintenance environment that will have essentially included automated equipment and machinery.

With excellent communication skills at all levels and with an affinity for technology, you will be able to work both autonomously and as part of the team within an often pressurized environment, and in return, the position offers an extremely competitive remuneration and benefits package as well as genuine stability, scope for further progression, and the opportunity to work for a recognised market leader.

Contact the Maintenance Team at Premier Technical Recruitment on 01827 68400 or email your cv in the strictest confidence to maintenance@p-t-r.co.uk for further details.
