Job Title: Installation & Service Technician - Instrumentation.

Location: Tamworth

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 dependant on experience + 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

The industrial internet of things is exciting and needs accurate & affordable sensor data. The Company manufacture hardware, put together bespoke solutions and provide software which enables industry to get immediate benefit.

They are currently looking for an experienced instrumentation / electronics Installation & Service Technician.

The Role

This varied role will be based from their facility in Tamworth but will require visits to customer’s premises to undertake survey, installation and service work. The role will include plenty of variety, from simple battery swaps on existing units to more complex installations of level sensors on chemical storage tanks where there may be a need to work on mains electricity and program the level sensor. At other times the individual would work in Tamworth, building small control panels, configuring and testing units and fault finding. It is essential to have an understanding of 4-20mA loops as well as being able to read electrical schematics. It would be an advantage if the successful candidate can use CAD to create electrical schematics.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

* Being methodical and safety conscious
* Being physically fit and able to see all colours
* Being courteous and discrete
* Using proper judgement and tact
* Being able to work on own initiative
* Understanding technical information and drawings
* Understanding mathematical calculations and other numerical data
* Operating in high places
* Taking measurements and performing calculations
* Being practical and reasonable
* Planning and customer service
* Be able to drive and willing to stay away from home overnight.

Education - must have a basic understanding of electronic instrumentation, especially 4-20mA.

A Formal qualifications such as:

* HNC
* GCSE
* City and Guilds
* Diploma or Associate Degree

In relevant subjects would be advantageous as would having a CSCS card. 17th edition wiring regulations trained would also be an advantage.

The successful candidate would be provided with a van, a mobile phone and a laptop computer in order to fulfil their duties.
