Job Title: Test Analyst

Location: Slough

Salary: £38,000

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Role Overview:

The Company is currently split into two development teams with a little cross-over. Going forward, the teams will work closer together. The QA team will work across both development teams dependent on the business priorities.

Reporting to the Software Product Manager this role involves:

* Working within a team on an enterprise-scale project developing a series of applications for the UK and International markets. The project encompasses a wide range of disciplines and makes use of several modern technologies
* Provide the quality assurance of and approval for all market releases
* Work on the legacy systems and being involved in the development life cycle all the way through from the user specification phase right up to the user acceptance testing phase with a focus on the functional testing and quality assurance of all the software developed by the team
* Assist developers and packaging up deliveries as well as creating some of the packages that do not need developer input

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

* Embrace and apply Agile Software Development practices
* Collaborate with developers and product owners to create, review, or enhance BDD scenarios
* Write, execute and maintain manual and automated tests
* Actively participate in Release Planning, Sprint Iteration Planning, Sprint Review and Retrospective meetings, including review and comment on requirements, design documents and acceptance criteria
* Work towards the timely delivery of sprint tasks/goals
* Lead coordination and execution of release testing, as appropriate
* Log and manage bugs and work towards their closure
* User documentation including user manuals, training documents and user acceptance test plans

The Candidate:


* Proven experience as a QA Engineer working with web applications
* Quality assurance of software and software packages
* Able to set and meet targets and deadlines
* Ability to multi-task
* Able to prioritise work and escalate issues in a timely manor

Essential Skills & Knowledge

* Automated testing experience with tools such as Selenium WebDriver/JAVA/C#
* Excellent understanding of various test methodologies & processes
* SQL knowledge – querying underlying complex test cases
* Experience in JIRA or similar bug tracking tools
* A working knowledge of Windows for ongoing support of legacy systems
* ISEB or similar qualification - Foundation


* Experience with Agile software development
* Clinical industry or regulated environment experience
* API testing experience
* ISEB or similar qualification. Intermediate or Practitioner


* A self-motivated tester with integrity
* Real passion for problem solving
* Ability to analyse a problem and identify all impacted areas
* High quality written and clear verbal and written communication skills
* Can work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
