Role: Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 (negotiable)

I am looking to place a Senior-level Civil Infrastructure Design Engineer with a multidisciplinary design consultancy’s Birmingham office. The consultancy has a mix of private clients and public-sector work from local government bodies such as the Environment Agency and Highways England, covering residential developments, education projects, some hospitals as well as various industrial/commercial developments in the Midlands, with most projects having a rail-related focus.

This particular vacancy has come about due to an increased workload and several successful bids on HS2-related projects. As such, the Birmingham Water and Infrastructure teams need long-term commitment from capable Senior Civil Infrastructure Design Engineers. The role will feature a large amount of work at the pre-planning and feasibility stages, with competency in Civil3D and MicroDrainage highly desirable for this particular role. Previous experience of private development work and public-sector work would be an advantage for any applicant. Furthermore, some experience with project planning tools such as Primavera or MS Project would be useful for the role, but are not essential requirements.

In return, the firm can offer a competitive salary and the opportunity to develop a range of client-facing and project management skills, alongside the opportunity to work alongside a team of dedicated engineers on one of the largest infrastructure projects of our time. Candidates should be working towards Chartership with the Institute of Civil Engineers or recently Chartered. For those not yet Chartered, the firm has an ICE accredited training program and mentors that will allow you to progress quickly.

Job Requirements:
  • (Working towards) Chartered with the ICE
  • Civil Engineering Degree
  • Civil 3D / WinDes / MicroDrainage, SuDS Design, FRAs
  • MS Project / Primavera experience (desirable)
  • Private Development Experience
  • Local Authority Experience
  • Pre-planning / Feasibility Study experience
