Operations Manager

East Midlands (Nottingham , Derby, Burton on Trent, Leicester area)

£ excellent negotiable dependant upon experience + benefits

Our client is a highly successful niche FMCG sector manufacturing market leader who are now seeking to recruit a dynamic, proactive and experienced Operations Manager to complement their established professional team.

Tasked with direct responsibility for all aspects of Manufacturing and Production, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Maintenance, Production Planning and Despatch & Warehouse, the successful Operations Manager candidate will:

* Ensure a systematic approach to control all operational management activities
* Increase and improve manufacturing efficiencies, process flow and capacity
* Ensure production is equipped to deliver results with clear supporting data
* To set, evaluate and implement KPIs then ensure the team meets its targets around, Safety, Performance, Efficiency and Waste Reduction
* Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and the work force. To proactively develop the current team including succession planning and new personnel recruitment
* Lead continuous improvements to make improvements in plant, process & products to improve on all KPIs
* Ensure smooth operations within the business, leading the management team to implement effective employee engagement and industrial relations
* Drive a cultural change of continuous improvement and operations excellence across the business

It is envisaged that the successful Operations Manager candidate will be realistically be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) and demonstrate at least 5 years’ experience in a similar managerial position.

You will be a proven driver and leader of change management with an innovative and forward-thinking approach and will possess comprehensive knowledge and experience of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques (e.g. OEE, OTIF, Scrap reduction, changeover).

Ideally you will be IOSH qualified and will excel in creating structures to support effective, efficient and sustainable company processes supported by excellent leadership skills to engage, empower and develop staff whilst leading by example.
