Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

I am looking for a near-Chartered Structural Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary consultancy’s Watford office. The firm is undergoing a period of expansion and require a mid to senior level Structural Design Engineer with around 3 - 6 years in industry to cover concept through to detailed design stages. The firm is well-established, with a history spanning over 100 years across Civil, Structural and Environmental projects.

The right applicant will be able to hit the ground running, having previous experience of structural design with the four common materials (steel, RC, masonry and timber) and previous project experience in multi-storey / medium-rise residential, commercial, education, some industrial. The firm also has a strong ‘bespoke’ structural design background, including structural glass, facades and structural ‘art’. This role would suit someone looking to take a step up in terms of project scale or who is looking for more responsibility with regards to project ownership.

Ideally candidates will be completing their Chartership in the next year or two or will have recently attained C. Eng status. For those not yet chartered, the firm offers an accredited training program alongside mentorship from more senior engineers, as well as a benefits scheme that is tailored to suit your individual requirements.

Job Requirements:
  • Relevant Education in Structural Engineering
  • Working towards / recent Chartership with ICE/IStructE
  • Experience of structural design in steel, RC, masonry, concrete
  • Experience of design in residential, commercial, medium / high-rise, industrial, etc
  • Experience in relevant software: Tekla, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, or similar
