They bring six extraordinary palaces to life, including the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, The Banqueting House at Whitehall, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland.

Role Overview:

They are looking to appoint a Junior Support Technician whose main role will be providing general IT and IS and project support duties for all the Organization’s staff. Whilst this position is based at Hampton Court Palace, regular travel to the other palaces will be involved. The working day will mean working from 8am to 6pm on a rota basis as well as providing out of hours support for events, incidents and special assignments as required.

The majority of your time will be providing assistance to users by running remote network software sessions and by visiting their offices to investigate IT issues. You will update the status of projects and tickets in the Service and Project management systems, set up new equipment, train staff on new systems and assist the IS team in resolving root cause analysis and known errors. The key requirement is to be flexible and proactive as you will work across the various IS teams as and when required.

The Candidate:

Strong communication, analytical, technical and problem-solving skills are essential as is previous experience of an IT support environment, where you have supported and implemented hardware, software and Cloud based solutions. The position would suit someone with extensive technical and practical knowledge of Desktop PCs/Laptops, Microsoft Windows & Office applications. Previous support experience of Telephone systems, Mobile Phones, Network troubleshooting, Tablets & Apple Macs is also desirable.

You must have the ability to prioritise your varied workload and multi task at all times, be a strong team player and the ability to deliver to tight deadlines. A tenacious and inquisitive mind set is a prerequisite as is excellent “people” handling skills for dealing with difficult / pressured people and working through until resolution.
