Full Time
Role: Environmental / EIA Consultant
Location: London
Salary: Negotiable
Type: Permanent

I am looking to place an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Consultant with around 3-6 years experience within an international multidisciplinary engineering consultancy’s London office, with a track record of projects in over 70 countries. The role would suit someone with experience in either infrastructure or urban regeneration projects, or other styles of project as long as you have the ability to adapt to new environments.

It is possible that candidates will have attained formal education in one area, such as contaminated land, flood risk management, acoustics or air quality, and then diversified into a more generalist role with leadership responsibilities or started their career in a more general environmental function. The firm works across a range of disciplines within Civil and Structural design including Residential, Healthcare, Defence, Energy, Highways, and more.

Ideally, candidates will have an affiliation with a professional body such as the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), and would eventually look to gain Chartered status or have recently attained it.

The firm has a well-established engineering and environmental department, with the Environmental Planning team in their London office developing and growing as a result of increased domestic and international work.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include technical leadership and project management duties for multiple projects, managing EIAs throughout design and construction phases, liaising with private and public-sector clients, managing new and existing commercial relationships and mentoring more junior members of staff, whilst developing and learning your own skills.

In return for the right experience and willingness to adapt to new environments, the firm are offering a competitive salary, a range of benefits to suit individual requirements and working directly under individuals who have decades within Environmentalism.

Job Requirements:
  • Relevant Education within Environmentalism/Engineering
  • Affiliation with relevant professional body e.g. IEMA
  • Experience checking EIAs across different sectors (urban regeneration + infrastructure preferred)
  • Desire to develop own skills within EIA
