INSTRUCTOR/ASSESSOR IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
We require someone to instruct and assess engineering and welding students in our workshop. The right person will have industry experience in a workshop environment using lathes and milling machines along with hand fitting skills. Teacher training will be given if needed, along with support for making that step from industry into teaching.
The ideal applicant will hold a Certificate in Education, PGCE or equivalent or the ability and willingness to obtain a level 3 teaching qualification within 2 years of commencing employment (4 Years for fractional posts). You should also hold a Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or appropriate industrial experience.
The ideal applicant will hold relevant experience of working in an Engineering Workshop environment in Turning and Milling, the ability to teach and assess Engineering practical skills and/or the ability to undertake staff development in order to learn these skills and transfer your knowledge, skills and practices from Industry into Further Education.
