We are working with an ever-growing Engineering Consultancy whom are looking to expand there team with a strategic hire for a Technical Director leading there Rail Civils and Structures capabilities in London. The team capability is civils/structures biased and in addition, the delivery of multi-disciplinary rail projects is led by the team in which typical projects involve bridges, stations, buildings, lineside structures, culverts, drainage, car parks, depots and temporary work.  

For this position the main purpose of the role is to provide a technical leadership function in the rail team.  You will have outstanding technical knowledge of structural mechanics, Eurocodes, British Standards and some familiarity with railway codes.  You will have the ability to lead the design of the most complex of structures, as well as supporting and mentoring junior employees. This would be a very hands on position in which you will also be involved in growing the team in addition to bringing in work by aiding in business development. 

This is an excellent position for an Associate with a Rail Civils or Structures background whom is looking to take that step up. 

Other locations other than London will be considered such as Ashford and Ipswich. 

Job Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer from either IStructie or ICE   
  • Demonstrable experience and expertise in the operation of a consultancy environment in the rail or civils sector
  • Understanding of the relevant standards such as Eurocodes etc
  • Experience in business development/working winning
