Our client is part of an established Group that specialise in the provision of bespoke materials handling solutions to a diverse range of customers and industry sectors worldwide. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated Key Account Manager and Technical Service Delivery Manager to complement their established and professional team.

Reporting to the Technical Director and based in Northampton, the successful Key Account Manager / Service Delivery Manager candidate will combine both proactive and reactive Account Management activities with elements of Project Management – acting as the primary point of contact for the customer at every stage of their projects for both commercial and technical elements, and necessitating a thorough understanding of their project requirements as well as the stages of such projects at every milestone - and with such an understanding comes the ability to advise the customers of any additional requirements that may be needed within their operation as well as ensuring they are both future-proofed and are subject to continuous improvement activities on an ongoing basis.

To be successful in this varied and challenging Key Account Manager / Technical Service Delivery Manager role, you will demonstrate exceptional communication and influcencing skills at all levels, from liaising with internal departments, senior management, service and project engineering teams to an array of contacts with varying requirements, and you will essentially need to be flexible – as often customers will make out of hours calls depending on their location and working environment – and a resilient and tenacious approach as well as the ability to maintain a constant awareness of developments within projects are critical for the role.

In addition to a broad range of Key Account Manager activities and developing and maintaining honest and commercially beneficial relationships with customers, you will be involved in the creation and design of solutions (utilising AutoCad LT) and understanding the specific needs of your client, before following projects through from quotation and design layout stages through to handover and customer sign off.

Whilst experience gained within a systems solutions, conveyors and materials handling environment will prove distinctly advantageous, the ability to use AutoCad LT, develop and nurture solid relationships and deliver the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction within a technical environment at all times are far more important.
