Our globally renowned client is recognised as the market leader in aerospace systems integration and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Manager to complement their professional aerospace manufacturing operation.

Critical to the future success of the sites sheet metal applications, this is an exceptional opportunity that will suit a natural leader experienced in driving and managing busy production operations in all aspects of manufacturing, project and change management, and the successful candidate will perform a range of production and management activities within a fast-paced environment.

Tasked with ensuring the application of regulatory, labour and safety requirements within the scope of responsibility and enforcing the quality requirements of the product, process and equipment, the successful manufacturing manager will also ensure compliance of the delivery of the product on time in full, derived from the Master Production Schedule and/or MRP requirements, whilst owning the economic criteria considered in budgets. You will ensure the implementation and adherence to standard company operating procedures for all manufacturing operations and both implement and drive a ‘right first time' attitude within the manufacturing area, whilst making sure that all industrial means, plant and equipment are maintained to company requirements and taking responsibility for first level maintenance whilst coordinating with UAP stakeholders the level two and level three planned maintenance, and provide proposals for capital investment to support the industrial strategic vision.

Other responsibilities of this manufacturing manager position will include leading the manufacturing area to ensure consistency in approach and implementing effective deployment of the company HR policy, identifying and reducing risks concerning H&S and implementing resources and budgets whilst managing preventative and corrective actions and verifying their effectiveness. You will ensure that 5S and GPI reports are completed every month and that all visual management is up to date whilst tracking the competencies of subordinates and providing leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives, including the development of apprentices.

With accountability for the overall SQCDP performance within the manufacturing unit, you will drive improvements on the metrics which are below the target level in line with the expected performance, including ability to influence cross functional resource requirements identified, and lead QRQC for the manufacturing area, wherever deployed. You will be proficient in the use of information systems (SAP, ADP, TESSE, QMS, BI4) as well as the portfolio of People Management Tools (including disciplinary, performance management, sickness absence management, employee development, and recruitment) and have good general proficiency in the MS suite of packages.

To be considered for this unique, almost entrepreneurial opportunity, you will essentially demonstrate an exhaustive understanding of production processes and supply chain and behaviours in line with a matrix & multi-cultural environment. You will possess good all-round proficiency in the MRPII process and a good understanding of the makeup of industrial costs and the implication of business decisions along with knowledge of the Quality Requirements and the influencing factors. You will be confined in taking ownership of process compliance with BSCM Basics in Supply Chain Management and Green Belt lean principles experience proving distinctly advantageous, with experience in a fast-paced automotive environment with high volume batch runs and time spent in a Quality batch production environment also proving beneficial.

You will demonstrate exceptional communication skills at all levels and be a confident and capable decision maker, able to work autonomously and as part of a team and undertake Conflict Management as appropriate whilst being able to influence others and be an ambassador of the business both internally and externally, and with the capacity to analyse complex problems and identify and drive the implementation of sustainable solutions through root cause analysis tools (8D, 5Y), you will also be aware of the financial impact of operational decisions.
