Part of a global aviation group we are an OEM-certified engineering company dedicated to providing maintenance, repair and overhaul services for small gas turbine and turbofan engines used in aviation. Our authorisations cover the majority of turbine engine models powering fixed and rotary wing aircraft used for business aviation, and many of the engines used in government, military and commercial applications.
Rework Inspector and CR Engineering Support Job Purpose:
Inspection of components to establish compliance and serviceability to within approved source substantiated data and as required off-load parts for rework in accordance with approved OEM repair techniques by sub-contract or in-house repair capability. Maintain quality control and technical instruction systems in accordance with company procedures and local instructions.
Rework Inspector & CR Engineering Support Main Responsibilities:
+ Using inspection techniques and equipment to ascertain component condition and interpret the results to verify that the OEM criteria is achieved.
+ Ensure all relevant technical documentation is accurately interpreted and adhered to.
+ Reload and/or add supplementary approved rework instructions to complete the repair/overhaul of individual components and inform the internal customer of any additional rework cost and PDD changes.
+ Inspect all components and identify parts as scrap, rework or serviceable as-is by referring to and interpreting product information and OEM manuals in accordance with company procedures and Quality Manual
+ Carry out final inspection to ensure no obvious damage as occurred during the rework cycle, all repair and modification instructions have been implemented fully and correctly and all documentation/PTP is appropriately stamped and complete.
+ Work in conjunction with CR Commercial on the unbolted work and implement:
+ A ‘Goods-in / Contract Review’ inspection and feedback results.
+ Generate rework routes to achieve the commercial requirements and off load parts into the rework cycle.
+ Final inspection and preparation for dispatch.
+ Approved release signatory.
+ Liaise with CR Engineering with technical support and feedback.
+ Update technical instructions (WS, WS-R, IPC-B18, B19, B25) to support CR Engineering.
+ Maintain positive and active relationships with all CR Departments by attending meetings as requested.
+ Liaise with CR Repair Development and Support Engineers on any engineering issues as they arise and actively support opportunities for improvement.
+ Utilise IT systems as appropriate
+ Responsible for sub-contract control involving inter process items – raising sub-contract orders, agree turn times, verify scope of work, check compliance.
Any other duties that may reasonably be requested by the management team
+ Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
+ Knowledge of engineering processes & processes and quality principles/compliances
+ PC literate
