Our client has been established for almost half a century and specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of a range of bespoke and modular automation and materials handling solutions for supply to food, pharmaceutical, distribution, recycling and baggage handling customers across the globe.

As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and highly self-motivated Project Manager to complement the existing members of the project / design team to assist with the business strategy of increasing turnover, profitability and growth.

Based in Powys and reporting to the Head of Projects, the successful Project Manager will have a proven track record of Client project management with demonstrable experience in the facilitation and production of work scopes and programs, and will manage project work folders in accordance with customer and business procedural requirements in order to ensure on time, within budget delivery of multiple engineering projects whilst managing customer expectations through clear communication to ensure the scope of supply is clearly understood and any change requests are managed and recorded.

Core responsibilities as Project Manager will include project managing contract work from project kick off through to completion and defining project strategies to obtain the most efficient project flow. You will oversee all aspects of project scheduling and budget management, ensuring all required design work packages are completed accurately and within deadlines and associated documentation completed accurately and on time.

You will manage suppliers and sub-contractors throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring they supply the agreed scope of works on time, on budget and to the required level of quality, and will regularly attend site on live projects to oversee build status and quality (so a full clean UK driving licence is essential for the role) and reporting on progress with a clear outline of the completed and uncompleted tasks.

To be considered for this varied and challenging Project Manager role based in Powys, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 5 years previous experience of material handling solutions including design and project management applications, and be a highly competent project management professional, realistically qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering disciplined with recognised industry qualifications. A proficient user of the MS suite of packages including MS Project, you will possess exceptional communication skills at all levels and a methodical and high attention to detail approach to projects.

You will be skilled in the design of MHE solutions and in the creation of associated engineering and manufacturing drawings, quality plans and BOM’s as well as relevant technical construction files, whilst working in accordance with relevant ISO, BS and EN standards as applicable.
