Role: Senior Structural Design Engineer
Location: Manchester (Deansgate)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (Negotiable)

I am looking to place a Senior Structural Engineer in an engineering consultancy’s Manchester office to work on a range of commercial, industrial, residential and leisure building projects. The firm has a history of award-winning engineering across different sectors covering Structural, Civil, Architectural and Environmental projects.

The Firm
The firm is located a short (1/2 a mile) walk from Deansgate Station and has operated across the built environment for over 60 years, with current and previous projects including multi-storey / mixed-use medium-rise developments, industrial facilities, business parks, leisure centres, public-sector works, stadiums (Wigan Athletic and Leeds United) and more.

About You
You will be a project-running Structural Engineer capable of working with minimal supervision through the design process. You will have relevant education in Structural Engineering and be working towards or recently attained Chartership with either the ICE or IStructE. You will be able to utilise industry-relevant software (Tekla preferred) and ensure that more junior project staff are meeting required standards. The firm utilises all common building materials and you will be confident in applying the relevant building codes for all materials.

Job Requirements
  • Relevant Structural Design experience (mixed-use, residential, commercial, industrial, etc)
  • Relevant education in Structural Engineering
  • Working towards / recently Chartered
  • Relevant design software ability (Tekla preferred)
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to manage small team of more junior staff / technicians
