Cost Accountant / Accounts Assistant Wednesbury, West Midlands

Our client is a market leader in the food packaging sector and supply household name retailers on a global basis. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Cost Accountant / Accounts Assistant to complement their established and professional team.

Based in Wednesbury in the West Midlands and reporting to the Financial Director, the successful candidate will create P&L and KPI reports on a weekly basis for the Financial Controller and senior management team to review, and create product costing information as well as maintaining customer sales pricing files and the fixed asset register, EC Sales reporting, VAT returns and intercompany reconciliation, cash forecasting and Office of National Statistics reports as required.

The Cost Accountant role is varied and challenging and offers a range of responsibilities, including Financial (ensuring that all information is recorded promptly and accurately), Management Support (providing advice and support to all levels regarding yields and recoveries), effective communication (liaising regularly with relevant departments to gather information to support the weekly P&L) and other duties as required including holiday cover and support in especially busy periods of the year.

To be considered for this exciting Cost Accountant opportunity with an internationally renowned market leader, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience gained within an accounts department with Management Accounts experience preferred. You will possess excellent and assertive communication skills at all levels within an often-pressurised environment whilst maintaining the highest ethical standards of working, and will be comfortable in working both autonomously and as part of a team. Additionally, you will be results focussed and both meticulous and proactive in your approach to work and able to identify and implement continuous improvement activities wherever practicable whilst ensuring adherence to relevant H&S legislation at all times.
