Maintenance Engineer - Automation Chesterfield

£ 38,978 + generous benefits, neg dep exp

Our client has been established for almost half a century and specialise in the development, implementation and support of a range of innovative and dynamic automated solutions for a diverse range of customers and applications worldwide.

Following the recent successful completion of their brand new flagship automated national distribution centre in the Chesterfield region, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and highly self-motivated multi skilled maintenance engineer to complement their established team and undertake a range of both planned preventative and reactive breakdown maintenance activities on an array of automated machinery and materials handling equipment.

Reporting to the Site Manager, the successful Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for fault recovery, escalation management, maintenance, inspection, repairs and improvements of the automated logistics installation, and will essentially demonstrate proven experience of working on PLC operated conveyor systems, stacker crane and mini-load systems.

Considering the global nature of the organisation, it is also essential that successful candidates will be open minded, communicative and able to develop relationships with sister operations within the UK and overseas and will be flexible to travel if required.

The shift pattern for the site involves working a 42.9hr week on a “days” shift pattern (ie “earlies”, "middle" and “lates” – there is NO night shift) on a Monday to Friday basis, with the shift pattern consisting of 6am to 2pm (5.30am get-in) /10.30am to 6.30pm (10am get in) and 2pm to 10pm (1.30pm get in) on a three week around pattern - so the ability to work on this style of shift pattern is an obvious requirement.

This is genuinely an exceptional opportunity for a suitably experienced and motivated multi skilled Maintenance Engineer with an automation or distribution sector background, and to be considered for the role, it is envisaged that successful candidate will possess relevant engineering qualifications together with proven experience and success gained within a fast paced manufacturing, engineering or maintenance environment that will have essentially included automated equipment and machinery.

With excellent communication skills at all levels and with an affinity for technology, you will be able to work both autonomously and as part of the team within an often pressurized environment, and in return, the position offers an extremely competitive remuneration and benefits package as well as genuine stability, scope for further progression, and the opportunity to work for a recognised market leader.
