Control Systems Engineer, £40k-£50k, Oxfordshire, A multi-award-winning scientific instrumentation company based near Oxford have a brand-new vacancy for a PLC Control Systems Engineer to join their research and development team. You will be a key player within the company for the design and development of PLC based software for both current and new highly automated systems.

The Control Systems Engineer will take full ownership of all aspects of the PLC software development, from detailed design through to final validation. You also will use your analytical mind-set to identify and problem solve issues related to production processes, equipment and manufacturability.

PLC Automation & Control Systems Engineer Responsibilities:

* Working in conjunction with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers and other colleagues in R&D on the ongoing development of current and ‘next generation’ new machines, with a particular focus on software.
* Ensure all prototypes are programmed to the correct/desired standard and are fully validated for operational use
* Project manage with hands-on ownership of all aspects of control software development from concept design through to delivery.

The Controls Systems Engineer will have most (or even all) of the following skills:

* Extensive machine/automation software development
* Multi-language PLC/PAC programming capabilities, eg Omron-Sysmac, Siemens, Rockwell - ControlLogix/CompactLogix, Opto 22 desirable
* Experience with HMI design
* Experience of working with industrial machinery within a highly technical environment
* Proficiency in Software troubleshooting, modification and maintenance

Preferably, the Controls Systems Engineer will also have these desirable attributes:

* Experience in rapid architecture design and code reformatting
* Flow chart creation and management
* Design of Experiment programs and Design Verification Plans
* Wide development experience, with exposure to all aspects of supplier sourcing, prototyping, design validation and mass production release
