Our client is a market leader in the FMCG sector and supply household name retailers on a global basis. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Quality Manager to complement their established and professional team.

Based inear Wednesbury in the West Midlands and reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the daily running of the QA team to ensure the site maintains adherence to food safety, product quality and legislative procedures whilst maintaining the highest customer quality standards. Core responsibilities for this varied and challenging role will include (but not be limited to):

* Ensuring the factory production team adhere to agreed HACCP process flows and critical control points in accordance with BRC requirement to ensure the safety, quality and legality of products.
* Overseeing line quality procedures and maintaining standards from specifications
* Assisting in the training of new QA operatives, ensuring all aspects of their job role are explained and understood, and maintaining QA department work instructions and training records
* Ensuring all personnel carry out allocated tasks and are fully utilised throughout shift, whilst ensuring compliance against all procedures and reporting issues as required.
* Carrying out investigations concerning customer quality complaints and compiling responses where necessary following investigation as well as collating and presenting Trend monthly and annual complaint data as required.
* Assisting in the monitoring of incoming raw materials, ensuring that any non- conformances are completed and reported, and raising any recurring issues as necessary
* Ensuring the micro schedule for raw materials and finished products is adhered to and retests are organised in a timely manner
* Representing the QA / Technical functions during NPD trials
* Participate in preparation for customer visits/presentations
* Carry out and report on projects

To be considered for this exciting Quality Manager opportunity with an internationally renowned market leader, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will possess at least 3 years chilled food industry experience along with previous technical experience of FMCG food related manufacturing operations.

You will possess proven management capability in a Technical, Quality Manager or Process Development function along with experience of working with Technical representatives of major retailers and will demonstrate relevant factory audit experience (or qualifications) and relevant raw materials, meat and fresh meat processing and Microbiology affecting meat and meat products knowledge.

Knowledge of raw meat including pork slaughter and associated welfare standards and of associated continuous improvement tools and techniques will prove distinctly advantageous, as will proven experience in cost control, health and safety and management of quality systems and a track record in microbiological and hygiene-based management programmes. Ideally qualified to at least Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3 / HACCP training, you will possess excellent communication skills at all levels and be comfortable in working both autonomously and as part of a team.
