This brand -new position for an Imaging Systems Specialist / Imaging Systems Engineer has been created at a highly successful Oxford based technology company who are developing high value, bespoke laser imaging systems for clients world-wide. The role would suit an individual with a background in instrumentation design or system integration involving lasers, optics, cameras, video image processing techniques, or similar.

Your goal is to master the imaging technology and then help develop it to the next level -and beyond. The position will suit an experienced Electronics Engineer, Optical Engineer or Scientist (Physicist, etc) who has had wide experience in a design and manufacturing business involving scientific instruments or hi-tech industrial machines and systems.
In this role you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the technical and development activities. You will be working with optical, imaging, electronics, opto-mechanical and software technologies at a system integration and applications level. Your role will include characterizing and testing products and adapting them to new applications. This is a highly varied role involving hands-on research, design and development.
Requirements
• Good degree or MSc in Physics, Electronics Engineering or other relevant technology.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a hi-tech engineering environment ideally working with sophisticated instrumentation or systems.
• Project management of design and manufacture processes
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Promote consultation and collaboration with their colleagues.
• Commercially aware
Ideally, you will also offer experience of the some following: Lasers and optics, Laser applications and/or imaging techniques, Cameras and Imaging techniques, Instrumentation design or integration, Analytical software, Software coding or scripting, CAD, Electronics, Particle Sizing
