Our client is a market leader in the FMCG sector and supply household name retailers on a global basis. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Technical Services Manager to complement their established and professional team.

Based near Dudley in the West Midlands and reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the management of technical support provided to both internal and external customers.

Responsible for new product set ups on all in-house systems (Master Data, FOPS & Omega), the successful candidate will oversee the activities of the specification writing team and label approvals with the support of the Technical Manager, ensuring all artwork is accurate and returned in a timely manner and having overall responsibility for raw materials and specification approvals for the site.

As Technical Services Manager, you will manage and coordinate range change requirements both internally and externally and will provide support on data validation in all departments, whilst ensuring the Food Safety and Quality Manuals are compliant with BRC/Retailer and legislative requirements as necessary. Other responsibilities will include ensuring cutters are created and correct as required and associated document control management is undertaken, whilst providing support as required on relevant quality systems procedures and audits.

A champion of both Health & Safety and continuous improvement, you will ensure a culture of ongoing and sustained improvement is maintained and that all relevant H&S legislation is complied with, and will actively participate in CI project teams within the business as well as analysing and actioning KPI information to understand those areas in need of improvement.

To be considered for this varied and challenging Technical Services Manager role, you will essentially demonstrate the ability to liaise with the site management teams with experience of both HACCP and quality management systems. You will ensure effective lines of communication are in place within the Technical Department and will pro-actively engage the Technical Management team with ideas for development, and it is envisaged that the successful candidate will realistically have attained a food related degree or equivalent with experience gained within a food processing environment.
