Brownhills, West Midlands

Our client has been established for more than 40 years and is a leading precision engineering manufacturing firm that specialises in the manufacturing of press tools, gravity die cast tools, plastic injection mould tools, CNC machining and wire erosion. As a company that continually invests in both the latest technologies in manufacturing and research and development activity, they have evolved into one of the top leading toolmaking companies in the country servicing the Automotive and Commercial Industries.

As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a number of CNC Miller Programmer / Operators to complement their professional team, and working on a Monday to Friday - 4pm to 2am basis – the successful CNC Miller programmer / operators will join an established and highly successful manufacturing team and concentrate specifically on the milling process.

With previous extensive experience of working with CNC machines, you will undertake programming activities (both editing and creating programmes) and will interpret drawings and procedures for a range of different client requirements associated with the milling process.

You will also undertake offline CNC programming utilising off-line programming systems including Delcam, Ezycam, Master-Cam and Lemoine, generating surfaces and cutter paths prior to inspection and the cutting of steel.

You will also undertake cutting tools design and measurement and fixture design and modifications as part of the milling process as well as providing general day to day production support in the milling area (such as problem-solving techniques: non-conformances – Root Cause Analysis etc).

To be considered for these varied and challenging CNC Miller programmer / operators opportunities you will essentially demonstrate previous 3 or 5 axis milling experience (preferably gained on Heidenhain or Fanuc platforms) along with an appreciating of CAD/CAM software.

Experience of tool steels will prove distinctly advantageous as will previous fixture design experience. A good all-round knowledge of milling tools and working with modern tools and utilising recognised and effective problem-solving techniques is also required, with an FLT licence again proving distinctly advantageous.

In return, an attractive remuneration package and a stable and progressive working environment are available to suitably experienced and enthusiastic engineers.
