Are you experienced in the nuclear or commercial waste industries with excellent communication skills?

The UK Atomic Energy Authority have an excellent opportunity for a Waste Interface Officer to join their team within the H3AT department. The team consists of circa 40 employees and are responsible for ensuring all waste that is produced on the site are disposed of in accordance with the various applicable regulations.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities include:

-Ensuring electronic transfer requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
-Responsible for consignment of sample material and data entry of analytical results.
-Liaise with all waste producers to enable UKAEA to fulfil its legal duty of care.
-Progressing procurement requests for the Waste Management Group.
-Data entry into the various Waste Services databases.

Knowledge skills and experience

- Good understanding of controlled, hazardous and radioactive waste legislation.
- Educated to at least GCSE level, preferably with a further education qualification.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office and Access databases.

- Experience in a similar role within the nuclear industry.

Special requirements:
- Able to become a radiation and beryllium monitored worker.
