The Production Team Leader will be a strong people manager, whose primary focus is to manage the

production flow, ensuring staff are lead, motivated and assigned to the correct tasks. Optimising production, maximising output and sequencing of manufacturing.

The role is an opportunity to participate in a programme of improvements on site as part of the overall future strategy for the business. The job requires a significant level of self-motivation, drive for change to challenge the status quo.

What will you be doing?

To manage the day to day activities of the production shift.

KPI’s:

+ Shift Output
+ CPU
+ GMP score
+ Audit pass rate
+ Customer complaints

Health & Safety:

+ Responsible for ensuring that the shift is adhering to all H&S procedures and
+ keeping up to date with new H&S policies being introduced, making
+ suggestions for H&S improvements and liaising with production manager to
+ implement these improvements.

Systems and Administration:

+ To utilise production admin to produce all necessary production entries and supporting information on the production system (Sage).
+ Admin tasks including holiday management, resource planning.
+ Process Adherence
+ Ensure that Company standards are briefed to shift & continuously monitored to ensure standards are maintained at agreed levels. Including:
+ + Hygiene procedures.
+ + Health and Safety, Operating procedures.
+ + Packing lines to be clean.
+ + Quality.
+ + Taste testing management

People:

Leading production trainers to ensure training programs are created and delivered for new starters and existing staff, ensuring that there shift is up to date with all aspects of training and ensuring that all staff are trained efficiently on new SOP’s .

Push staff performance, identify gaps in shift and implement change to improve shift performance.

+ Communicate business news to staff keeping them up to date with business changes and hold regular team meetings.
+ Utilisation of Equipment
+ Record / monitor utilisation & make recommendations to increase equipment efficiency/effectiveness.
+ Ensuring PPM is carried and liaising on any faults found.
+ Where faults are found ensuring initial fault finding occurs in order to advise Production Manager of any remedial action required.
+ Shift Paperwork
+ Collate & sign off their shifts paperwork, ensuring accuracy of data recorded.

Duties will also include supporting the Production Manager which will involve completing ad hoc requests as required and deputising for the Production Manager in their absence.

What are we looking for?

Essential

+ Previous Management Supervisory experience in a food production environment.
+ Experienced and good knowledge in the areas of batch control, stock control and management
+ Strong management training and skill with the ability to motivate and get the best from individuals

Preferred

+ Formal training in Health and Safety and Food Hygiene
+ Good knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook, experience with Sage 200 desirable
