Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: Home-based (ideally located in the Midlands or North of England)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience + Benefits

Are you a mechanically inclined problem-solver with a background in field service or technical support? Do you have a sound mechanical and electrical understanding?

As a field service engineer, your primary role is to work on-site to provide installation, commissioning, training and servicing of industrial hot melt and cold glue application equipment at customer locations. The primary territory is mainland UK, with some travel to Ireland and occasionally Europe.

The Role

This role will include hands-on training at the factory in Basildon, Essex and a period of on-the-job training. Following this training, you will get to put your technical, mechanical and electrical skills to use in new and challenging situations while you interact with a wide variety of people, machines and settings.

You are required to install, commission and provide training of new systems at customers’ factories, including modification or on-site fabrication of parts, as well as the servicing, maintenance and problem-solving of our customers’ existing systems.

The Candidate:

Excellent customer service is a vital part of this role, solving customer’s technical problems and questions by both telephone and email. Using your customer service skills, you will be required to identify new opportunities for the company and work alongside the operations and sales teams to develop new business.

Key requirements

* Reliable
* Technical and electrical experience
* Minimum of three years’ experience in hardware support or repair work in a customer-facing field service role
* Clean driving record (a company van will be provided)
* Ability to work productively with minimal supervision
* Good communication and excellent customer service skills
* Ability to use of hand tools, electrical test meters and an understanding of technology needed to complete repairs (tools will be provided)
* You must be well presented


* Experience with industrial gluing systems.


* Base salary between £30,000 - £35,000 (subject to experience)
* Full Time Hours -37.5 hours per week + any additional hours available paid as overtime
