£33,000 to £49,360 per annum

As our Materials Supply Chain Manager, you’ll help us deliver our materials strategy plan by bringing essential materials management support to our engineering department. It’s all about helping us achieve optimum material prices via the contracts we already have in place, while managing and regularly reviewing our list of approved safety critical suppliers.

On a daily basis, you’ll make sure we’re using our SAP materials control system effectively, and you’ll provide training when we need it. And you’ll play a key role in predicting and forecasting stock, and in helping us reach our savings and productivity targets.

We’re not looking for specific engineering expertise, but some knowledge of engineering in the rail industry would be useful. What’s important is that you have a good understanding of SAP, and a background in material or supply chain management, together with strong relationship building, negotiation and communication skills.

Qualified to CIPS Level 4 or 5, or working towards Level 5, you’ll also have plenty of initiative, and the ability to quickly solve problems to help keep our trains moving.
