Production Support Technician - Temporary (up to 18 months)

Our client is recruiting a Production Support Technician to join their very own state-of-the-art boat building facility.

It is essential you have an NVQ Level 4 in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent, with experience in a small boat production, refit and/or repair environment, including knowledge of composite construction methods, mechanical and electrical systems, marine coatings and repair processes.

You will be confident in your communication and organisational skills and with existing technical knowledge of production processes be driven and decisive.

This role will involve:

- Co-ordinating of drawing and technical information

- Raising orders for non-stock parts

- Reporting on progress of the design approval process

- Supporting production with the Continuous Improvement Process and attending regular meetings

- Ensuing job card and drawing information is accurate and updated on the production shop floor

- Compiling COSHH and MSDS information in support of new products

- Working collaboratively with Production Control and the Production Support Engineer to help support the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure)

Our client has their very own state-of-the-art boat building facility which brings every stage of lifeboat construction, refit and maintenance in-house and under one roof.

The exciting programme to extend the life of our client’s largest all-weather lifeboat for another 25 years, is growing as they transition from the design/prototype phase to the ongoing production programme. This brings with it a requirement for additional Production support to ensure that tasks are planned, resourced and executed in the safest and most efficient way, to deliver on time and to the highest standard.

You will not only work alongside the design team, but also work in conjunction with the Internal Construction and Refit Support Cell, where you will work with Technical Surveyors, Buyers and other Engineering disciplines to provide support to all areas of production, refit and repair.
