Job Title: Assembly Process Technician

Location: Dorking, Surrey

Salary: Depending on experience

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (Working Hours: 8am to 4:45pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 1pm Friday)

Carville is a well-established manufacturer and renowned experts in machining, bonding and finishing engineering grade plastics, especially Acrylic. They supply global, blue-chip customers in life sciences, medical devices and industrial applications with precision plastic components and assemblies.

The Role:

You will be working on a wide variety of precision machined plastic parts and assemblies. We are looking for an Assembly Technician to join our team with key tasks in some or all of the following areas:

  • Accurately inserting metal inserts
  • Bonding plastic parts with solvent
  • De-burring parts
  • Assembling a variety of delicate parts
  • Building up assemblies including applying adhesive
  • Polishing and cleaning
  • Finishing parts to a very high standard
  • Visual quality checking work

The Candidate:

The position is suitable for someone who is good with their hands at detailed tasks, with a good eye for detail and ability to work in a clean and tidy manner. Some experience is needed in one or more of the areas above. You need to work well as part of a team, managing your own work-load whilst coordinating with your team and supervisor. There is also scope to progress within the company and full training will be provided.

Essential Skills & Experience: 

  • Experience in a manufacturing or craft type environment
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to follow defined processes and procedures.
  • Hands on, practical approach.
  • Positive, problem-solving attitude

Nice to have Experience:

  • Some engineering background
  • Working with plastics
  • Able to read 2D Technical drawings
  • Detailed assembly work

Candidates with the relevant experience or job title of; Dental Laboratory Technician, Medical Appliance/Prosthetics Technician, Instrument Assembly Technician, Instrument repair Technician, Gauge Restoration Technician, Precision Mechanical Fitter, Clock and Watch Repair Technician, Model Maker, Musical Instrument Repair Technician, Film & TV Prop Maker, Jewellery maker, cabinet maker, plastic fabricator, workshop technician, craft, process technician, assembly technician, Optical Glazing technician
