WHAT TO EXPECT

As a Battery Quality Leader working for Jaguar Land Rover, you will have the opportunity to join a dynamic battery engineering team with the goal of improving our quality and customer satisfaction.

Acting as the Commodity Quality Leader, you will get to develop and deliver a comprehensive and aligned strategy for the Battery Quality department and lead the team responsible for the resolution of customer issues relating to High Voltage and Low Voltage batteries.  You will also get to embed quality best practices, methods, standards, processes and tools across the batteries department.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Establish and coordinate quality improvement projects across the department
  • Lead on 8D issue management, IQM updates and technical reports that are delivered to senior leadership
  • Seek to drive common approaches for tools, analysis techniques, processes and reports in order to improve battery issue determination, resolution and implementation
  • Lead on forward model quality and prevent recurrence activity for the department
  • Ensure capable, robust and documented quality methods across the battery department
  • Develop efficient, standardised and automated data analytics processes
  • Drive expansion of Data Over the Air (DOTA) and battery prognostics
  • Coordinate current car AIMs and Supplier change requests
  • Work with the battery assembly facility to identify and resolve engineering issues raised by manufacturing
  • Represent Battery Engineering team in Quality forums both within Powertrain and the broader business

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Knowledge of battery system architecture (LV, BEV, MHEV and PHEV)
  • Proven leadership skills that leave people feeling inspired to work for you and with you
  • Experience of solving complex technical issues applying principles such as 6 Sigma, 8D, DMAIC
  • The ability to make effective decisions in the best interest of the business and customer

 

Desired:

  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline or in associated subjects such as electronics, electrical engineering or other technical qualifications
  • EV safety training desirable, ideally to Senior Authorised Person (SAP) level
  • 6-Sigma Green Belt, or enrolled on Green Belt training programme
