We are looking for someone to take on an important role helping identify and assess the next set of Benefits and Efficiencies that will help MBDA offer the Front Line Commands greater military capability for their fixed budget. This is an exciting chance to gain valuable experience in how the Portfolio is jointly operated by MOD and MBDA, and to play a key role in helping to shape the future of the Portfolio. The main purpose of the role is the analysis and reporting of the financial and non-financial Benefits and Efficiencies associated with MBDA's Portfolio (working as part of the joint MBDA/MOD portfolio team) and is essential to ensuring that the Portfolio continues to be seen as good Value for Money for the MOD. You will be joining the Portfolio Management Team on secondment, working with a wide cross section of the business as well as the UK customer.

You will be part of the Portfolio Transformation and Improvement team, working as part of a wider team drawn from across the business. Your focus will be assessing and articulating the potential financial and non-financial Benefits and Efficiencies resulting from our updated Complex Weapons Portfolio offering to the MOD. The successful candidate will be supporting the Joint (MOD and MBDA) Portfolio Management Team, and will work closely with MOD to ensure that they recognise that MBDA's Portfolio continues to represent best Value for Money for defence.

As part of this task you will help ensure:

  • The financial Benefits and Efficiencies are quantified accurately, ensuring a robust audit trail.
  • Benefits and Efficiencies are communicated across the business and to the customer in a compelling way, using varied communication methods according to the audience.
  • Benefits and Efficiencies toolsets are kept up to date, ensuring best practice is followed.
  • Strategic Programmes (StratProgs) and DE&S understand and validate all financial savings included within the MBDA Portfolio

What's great about joining this team?

  • Working with a diverse and talented group of people across all disciplines of the customer community and within MBDA's business.
  • Working in a positive environment with clear objectives and with the full support of senior management.
  • Great exposure to the UK Portfolio Directorate, including the Senior Management.

What are the benefits for you?

This role will provide valuable experience in a number of areas:

  • The opportunity to gain an understanding of the Portfolio, and to work in a dynamic MOD/MBDA environment.
  • Close interaction with a wide range of stakeholders, including direct MOD customer contact and the opportunity to gain an insight into the workings of the UK MOD customer organisation.
  • The ability to play an important role within a small team that is helping to drive the transformation of the UK Complex Weapons sector.
  • The opportunity to broaden your understanding of how the UK business functions and operates by working closely with a number of functions (Engineering, SBD, Finance, Business and Performance, etc.) and projects.
  • It will also provide a greater visibility of the UK company across many areas, identifying further opportunities for career development.

What we're looking for from you:

You will have an organised approach to managing information.

You will have strong Excel skills, and be comfortable developing toolsets and undertaking data analysis.

You will be confident providing reports both externally to the MoD and internally to senior management.
