WHAT TO EXPECT 

The battery engineering department is responsible for the design, development and engineering sign off of all JLR batteries both designed inhouse and bought in. The department comprises a matrix organisation of designers, test and validation engineers and programme leaders.

 

The BMS team are responsible for design and development and sign off of the battery management system. More specifically developing the architecture and requirements for the BMS design, then validating these requirements across HIL rigs, battery test properties and vehicles.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Development of test plans to ensure the BMS system is fully validated.
  • Execution of test plans across multiple test properties to ensure plan is delivered on time and to the right quality level.
  • Investigating and managing issues raised on vehicles. Supporting resolution plans for any issues raised and managing the impact with the vehicle/test teams.
  • Escalate and communicate issues and roadblocks for arbitration and suggest solutions within engines, powertrain and vehicle.
  • Provide technical support and assistance across the operational team on topics relating to the integration and harmonisation of multiple interconnected components including issue resolution and objective data analysis.
  • Support Lead Engineers in inputting to AIMS and drive closure in line with vehicle gateways.
  • Build relationships with all module team members.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Good relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector.
  • Model based engineering (MBE).
  • Requirements Management (RM).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance.
  • Full driving licence.
