Job Title: Business Support Specialist - MEP

Salary: Circa £32,000 depending on experience 

Location: Stevenage/Bolton (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

We have an exciting new role for a highly motivated, organised and efficient individual to join the UK Support Function team. You will undertake specific responsibilities to support, prioritise and coordinate effective and efficient support to MBDA's Major Equipment Procurement (MEP) team. This role will play a vital part in enabling the MEP community to focus on sourcing, contracting and supply of bespoke / high value complex equipment, needed to deliver world leading defence capabilities.

You will need to exhibit a high level of organisation skills, great team ethic and the ability to interface with people at all levels both internally and externally, whilst embracing innovative ways of working.

The Role (this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities)

  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with individuals across MEP/UKSF and other internal functions
  • Provide access control administration support to MEP functional shared drives, systems and resources
  • Support the maintenance, update and ensure topically of functional resources, notable the MEP UK Portal (hosted on SharePoint) and MEP Intranet site
  • MEP recruitment process – supporting recruiting managers, gathering relevant information and issuing a recruitment update on a weekly basis
  • Support on-boarding activities of new starters to streamline their on-boarding experience
  • Prepare and issue of MEP's monthly newsletter through the creation of content and obtaining inputs from members of MEP
  • Support the preparation of Quarterly MEP Communication events, either in person or virtually
  • Gather data, undertake analysis and present the information in an engaging manner to support MEP Functional and Governance reviews
  • Support and be an active participant in functional Working Groups and Communities of Purpose groups which are currently operating
  • Coordinate ‘MEP Pop-Up' knowledge management and training awareness sessions, organising sessions with presenters and support the creation of on-demand videos
  • Support Knowledge Management activities being undertaken in MEP, including the maintenance of the KM Plan and supporting lessons learnt sessions
  • Design, carry out and analyse surveys using various approaches available (Qualtrics, hosting focus groups and undertaken 1-2-1 engagements)
  • Lead/Be responsible for low/medium complexity transformation and improvement projects with minimal support from Line Manager
  • Continuously consider current operating methods and proposing improvements to the ways of working
  • Develop an understanding of the role of Major Equipment Procurement within MBDA and key activities undertaken
  • To be a key member within the UK Support Function and participate in engagement and networking activities
  • Sharing best practice and knowledge within the UK Support Function and offering guidance and training to team members
  • Participation and progress on UK Support Function personal development initiatives – to be accountable for own self-learning and development
  • Be a part and help build the Business Support Specialist Network
  • Be an expert in MBDA tools and systems and act as a tool champion
