WHAT TO EXPECT

To work as part of a team developing and delivering engine calibrations for new electrified powertrains. Collaborating with Powertrain teams to meet challenging new emissions legislation and customer attributes.

Calibration Engineer role within the Base Engine Calibration Team. Develop base engine calibrations for upcoming emissions programmes (Eu7, CN7, LEV4 / Tier4) through to production. Experience virtual and physical testing of prototype engines and vehicles, on rigs and road, covering the full extreme operating window of JLR’s products.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Support the development of new gasoline engine technologies and delivery of programmes to meet challenging new requirements (emissions legislation, customer attributes).
• Deliver base engine work packages, including validation and robustness.
• Work with Subject Matter Experts and Calibration Lead Engineers to deliver work packages on time and to target.
• Utilise virtual and physical testing and support development of efficient calibration methodologies and tools.
• Support testing activities in UK and overseas on rigs, test beds and vehicles including hot, cold and high-altitude environments.
• Deliver work packages within JLR’s Agile framework.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

• Previous engine calibration experience, with understanding of combustion and emissions.
• Excellent data analysis skills, ability to form conclusions and present a coherent summary.
• Use of ETAS INCA, MDA calibration tools.
• Able to demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Full UK Driving License.
