The Role
As a Capability Lead Waste and Environmental, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. A recognised expert within the organisation, this role draws upon comprehensive knowledge and a deep understanding of this discipline to apply expertise to the most complex and challenging assignments, developing innovative solutions and recommending improvements. This role sets direction in their area of specialty, with scope and influence extending across the organisation and may also lead teams of professional associates.

Day to day, you'll be providing leadership of the Nuclear Waste Management and Environmental Capability through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience:

  • Develop the Waste and Environmental Capability in line with Cavendish Nuclear strategy and growth plans.
  • Support the development and implementation of capability strategies and plans.
  • Manage resource supply to meet near-term and strategic demand.
  • Monitor and maintain staff utilisation.

This role is a full-time position that is contracted at 37 hours a week and can be based at either out Warrington, Bristol or Newbury sites with hybrid working from home arrangements. There is a requirement for attending face-to-face meetings and / or delivering business across a range of internal and customer sites.

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential Experience of the Capability Lead Waste and Environmental:

  • Demonstratable experience in the nuclear sector, ideally, within radioactive waste.
  • Proven experience in supporting projects throughout the service lifecycle.
  • Experience of line management of technical teams.

Qualifications for the Capability Lead Waste and Environmental:

  • Degree (or similar / equivalent qualification) in relevant technical (engineering or science) discipline.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
