Salary: £30,000 - £38,000 per annum DOE

The Company:

ITL-Vacuum is a UK based business, manufacturing, sourcing and supplying ranges of Standard and Non-Standard Vacuum components, fittings and vessels within a range of industries utilising vacuum techniques. This includes Semi-Conductor, Research, Energy, Medical and general Industrial vacuum users.

The role:

As a Chamber Engineer you will be reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, and have strong experience in manufacturing vacuum chambers, with an understanding of engineering principles and materials science. Experience using XYZ milling machines, mechanical and materials knowledge and understanding of tools essential. You will be able to read and interpret engineering drawings. The ideal candidate will also be experienced in fabrication, fitting and some light welding. Also experience within a fast paced and high-volume environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture vacuum chambers according to customer specifications.
  • Manufacture mid-range vacuum components, including fitting, tweaking and some light welding.
  • Manufacturing of high volume, less complex products as and when required.
  • Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment and tools.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to follow instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimise chamber design and performance.
  • Ensuring all jobs issued are completed within the given timescales.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing-related issues and challenges.
  • Ensuring compliance with all aspects of the Health & Safety & Quality Policy.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience in vacuum chamber manufacturing or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and materials science.
  • Experience within a fast paced and quick turn-around environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-player skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Competent in fitting and ability to fabricate from own jigs and fixtures.
  • Competent in reading and working from Engineering drawings.
