WHAT TO EXPECT

We are Interested to hear from talented people with high voltage experience at Lead Engineering level to act the Charging Attributes Lead Engineer.  This is an opportunity to look after our new Battery Electric JLR Models, from the start of production and beyond.


The Charging Attributes Lead Engineer delivers high voltage Charging Efficiency, Performance, Charging Attributes and Features for its platform at each model year.

 

The scope of work spans the entire product gateways and includes target definition, competitors benchmark study, management of attribute inputs and trades, vehicle development and sign off to brand DNA, and successful delivery of performance and charging targets.

 

This is a high-profile role which involves complex project management and significant exposure to senior management across Powertrain and Vehicle Engineering. It requires technical knowledge, some hands-on vehicle exposure, and data analysis skills. You will be instrumental in shaping and forming the future DNA of our next models.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Work with high voltage system and component areas to define and maintain cascaded target requirements.
  • Plan and support test and development activities as required or specified in the Design Verification Plan (DVP) in time and to budget.
  • Support and maintain issues and deviations on the relevant systems and track them to successful resolution and closure.
  • Support competitor and comparator Attribute benchmarking and futuring, including, physical / virtual testing, measurement and visual assessments as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • You will be comfortable collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders and operating to both fluid and sometimes tight deadlines. 
  • The role requires a proactive person; someone comfortable influencing and engaging with sometimes challenging stakeholders. 
  • You’ll have a High Voltage Systems Engineering background (in an attributes or commodities field).
  • You’ll have experience of reporting, influencing and engaging along with dealing with challenging situations
  • You’ll have a relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • And you’ll be happy to work at least 3 days on site (Gaydon, Warwickshire plus other sites)
  • Proficient in Microsoft (in support of presenting and data analysis)

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in Battery Electric Vehicles engineering
