WHAT TO EXPECT

As a System Engineer you will be part of the Electrified Propulsion Systems, Calibration and Controls team within Powertrain. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of functionality controlling the electrified propulsion system.  Working with the voice of the customer teams, User Experience, Human Factors, systems team, and the inhouse software function developers, you will define feature and system enhancements on the system to support a premium experience for JLR users.  The responsibilities extend from elicitation of stakeholder needs, through to system design (for cascade to inhouse software teams) and system validation.

The role focus is on the charging and HV system is a critical part of the electrified products which has a high level of customer interaction and technical details.  Our goal is to develop a system design which robustly provides a luxury and frictionless experience.  There is significant industry development resulting in a fast-moving feature enhancement.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

  • System design tasks on various features (system architecture, system behaviour models, requirements)
  • Development and approval of new feature content
  • Interaction and integration with wider organisation for feature integration
  • Development of usecases / activity diagrams to support feature design.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

 

  • System design experience
  • Experience in electrified powertrains or distributed control systems.
  • Passionate about creating and delivering new automotive technologies.
  • Self-motivated, with strong personal & team management capabilities.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, engaging a wide range of stakeholders effectively.
  • Proactive in learning new skills to support yourself in role.
  • Personal experience in driving electrified vehicles (EV & PHEV)It
