The Contractors Responsible Engineer (P-Way) role is based within Babcock Rail.

The role
The difference our new Contractors Responsible Engineer (P-Way) will make
As a Contractors Responsible Engineer (P-Way), you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. In this role you will support Babcock Rail in the pursuit of Engineering Excellence, as well as lead and support initiatives to manage compliance to Translink Standards.
Day to day, you'll be responsible for providing a formal link to Translink to allow Technical and Engineering issues to be discussed and disseminated. You will do this by providing support to the CEM and by providing professional guidance on all technical issues related to the Projects that you will be responsible for.
Your duties will include:
* Liaising with the client's representatives, Translink Project Team, Programme Engineering Manager, other Babcock CEMs and Babcock Rail's Professional Heads as required over technical issues.
* Providing direction and assistance in the mentoring and instruction of all technical staff in the correct methods of carrying out their duties for the implementation of Track works.
* Independently monitoring technical compliance on contracted works to ensuring that the documentation as required by the Client is correctly completed, accurate and delivered to the client within the required timescales.
* Assist the CEMs in delivering compliance with all relevant safety legislation.

Essential experience
* Experience in the Track Renewals / P-Way Environment.
* Professionally qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline.
* Successful record in project and engineering management of good sized railway schemes.
* Chartered Engineer.
* Educated to Degree Level.
* Fully conversant with railway structure and associated safety matters.
* In depth knowledge of utilities, construction and contracting.
